British Indoor Skydiving Nationals 2022

In conjunction with the British Indoor Skydiving Association (BISA), iFLY Basingstoke is honoured to be hosting the British Indoor Skydiving Nationals 2022 on the 12th and 13th February.

There are 8 disciplines to choose from, the winners of each will be accredited as 2022 UK champions, and go on to represent the UK in the World Championships.

Entry price includes BISA registration fee and British Indoor Skydiving Nationals Welcome Pack - which contains official event merchandise.

It also unlocks access to exclusive competitor rates on tunnel time.

After payment, you'll receive an email containing a registration form to finalise your participation.

Competition Summary

The British Indoor Skydiving Nationals will determine which teams and individuals will go on to represent GB in the forthcoming World Cup.

iFLY Basingstoke will host this prestigious event, wholly supporting the overall promotion and development of Indoor Skydiving as an inclusive global sport.

As such, the competition is open to flyers of all ages, all abilities, all experience levels and all nationalities.*

Competitors do not require skydiving experience (outdoors) to take part.

All competition categories will be professionally judged and include:

*Whilst all nationalities are welcome, only those legitimately eligible to attain a sporting license to represent GB and who have not represented any other country in the last 2 years, may progress to the World Championships on behalf of GB.

Competition Schedule

Specific competition timings will be announced in due course. 

As a guide, the event is set to take place from 0800hrs on Saturday 12th February 2022, until 1800hrs on Sunday 13th February 2022.

Professional judges and systems will be in place for all disciplines and categories.

  • Formation Skydiving & Artistic disciplines: Intime Scoring System
  • Dynamic Flying disciplines: Dynamr (TBC)


  • Winners will qualify for future FAI First Class Events - including the forthcoming Indoor Skydiving World Championships
  • Podium finishers (1s, 2nd, 3rd) will receive trophies / medals in commemoration of their achievement

  • Minimum purchase is £450 
  • Reserved only for competitors who can demonstrate they have paid their entry fee to the British Indoor Skydiving Nationals 2022.
  • Training time available at iFLY Basingstoke, Manchester & Milton Keynes only
  • Training time redeemable online via Super User Account - which will be allocated to 1 team member
  • Super User Account may be topped up with a minimum of £450
  • All Training time to be booked and flown by Friday 11th February 2022
  • Refunds not permitted on Super User Accounts under any circumstances.
  • Standard no-show, cancellation and rescheduling policy applies.

The cream of the UK's Indoor Skydiving community will descend on the town of Basingstoke for what is set to be a momentous event.

Spectators are welcome and we anticipate an electric atmosphere as competitors flight for the glory of representing Great Britain at World level.

Please feel free to turn up anytime, early till late over the weekend...and don't miss the party!

Tunnel Facilities

iFLY Basingstoke boasts all the usual facilities you would expect at modern-day leisure venue.

This includes disabled access, free WiFi, parking, as well as a range of food and refreshment establishments on the doorstep.

iFLY Basingstoke is easy to get to, however you travel.

Getting here

By road

From Junction 6 of the M3 follow signs towards Newbury around the ring road until you reach the Thornycroft Roundabout. Take the first exit into Churchill Way West (B3400) – signposted for The Leisure Park, continue up to and all the way round the next roundabout. Enter the Leisure Park by either of the two entrances.

If you are coming from Junction 7 of the M3, take the A30. Follow signs to Basingstoke town centre and the Leisure Park and enter via either of the two entrances.

If travelling on Worting Road in Basingstoke, the Leisure Park is well signposted from all directions and is only 3 miles from the M3.

By rail

Basingstoke train station is just one mile away from iFLY and the Leisure Park. From here you can jump in a taxi or get on the pink Centre Shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes and goes from the station to the Leisure Park.

By bus

The bus station is just one mile away from iFLY and the Leisure Park. From here you can get on the pink Centre Shuttle bus which runs every 15 minutes straight to the Leisure Park.

By air

The nearest airports are Southampton, just 32 miles away and London Heathrow which is only 38 miles away.

Safety is a priority at iFLY

As such, all safety instructions will be discussed during the technical meeting for each discipline.

iFLY also requires all competitors to complete a safety waiver before entering the flight chamber at any of our facilities.

Competitors will be issued with the pre-flight waiver as part of their entry confirmation.  

The International Bodyflight Association (IBA)

iFLY works closely with the International Bodyflight Association for all in-wind safety protocols, practices and supervisory techniques.

We ask that all competitors sign up for free to the IBA and keep a record of their membership number. 

Competitors will be issued with IBA sign-up instructions as part of their entry confirmation, or you can register here.

Safety Equipment

All participants are required to wear a helmet and equipment which is in compliance with the FAI Sporting Code Section 5 - 2017 Edition.

Please ensure your flight equipment is safe and suitable as the organiser reserves the right to refuse you entry to the wind tunnel should they deem it unsuitable or unsafe.

  • Metal on Helmet:  You may not enter the wind tunnel with exposed metal components. The organiser may hold you financially responsible for any damage to the wind tunnel equipment.
  • Plastic Helmet Mounts:  It is recommended that any plastic camera mounts are removed from your helmet before entering the flight chamber. 
  • Weight belts: Competitors should bring their own weight belts.

Emergency Details

The building meets full safety and emergency requirements for public use (evacuation procedures, fire safety, emergency exits etc).

Throughout the event, there will be a qualified first aider on-site.

If a competitor or team cancels before 31st January 2022 for any reason, the entry fee will be exchanged for a flight voucher as per the voucher exchange list below. 

If iFLY cancels before 13th February 2022 the entry fee will be exchanged for a flight voucher as per the voucher exchange list below.

All vouchers detailed below are valid at iFLY Basingstoke, Manchester & Milton Keynes.

  • FS AAA: 40 min off-peak voucher.  
  • FS AA: 40 min off-peak voucher.
  • FS A: 40 min off-peak voucher.
  • FS Rookie: 40 min off-peak voucher.
  • VFS: 40 min off-peak voucher.
  • Freestyle: 10 min off-peak voucher.
  • 2 Way Dynamic: 20 min off-peak voucher. 
  • 4 Way Dynamic: 40 min off-peak voucher.

No monetary refunds will be available and no compensation awarded to cover travel and/or accommodation expenses.

Competitors may not cancel after the 31st January 2022 and no exchanges facilitated after this date.
