Can I park near to the tunnel?

There are car parks near to all of our tunnels.

Manchester and Basingstoke have free parking which is operated by iFLY.  iFLY Milton Keynes is part of the Xscape centre, but parking is run by the local council so a charge applies.

Please see the location page for your tunnel for more details:

What time do I need to arrive?

You need to arrive an hour before your flight.  This gives you enough time for the pre-flight briefing and to get kitted up.

Tunnel slots, so please make sure you arrive at the right time so that you don't miss your flight!

Do I need to bring ID or paperwork?

All you need is your confirmation email (either printed, or on your phone is fine).

You should complete your Statement of Risk online before you arrive if possible, as this will save time on the day.

Is food and drink available?

All iFLY locations have vending machines for you to get snacks and drinks.  There are also food outlets nearby as follows -

We've also partnered up with our friends at Salvi's, who we think are the finest Italian eatery around to bring a little piece of sunny Italy to iFLY Manchester. Serving all of the finest Italian dishes, from pizzas and pastas to cakes and pastries, as well as a range of fantastic coffees, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Great for those spectators watching their friends and loved ones take to the air and a perfect place to relax before or after your flights!

Right next door to us is our ‘drive through’ Costa coffee. Why not grab a drink and snack to enjoy whilst you’re watching friends and family fly. Better still…speak to our reception team and see if there’s space for you to join in the fun!

Milton Keynes
iFLY is right in the heart of the Xscape complex, where there is a multitude of restaurants, bars and coffee shops for you to enjoy. There’s just a short walk to the wind tunnel where you can enjoy all the flying action.

Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?

(a) First Time Flyers and Returning Flyers

In the event we do reschedule your flights within the 48 hours’ notice period, a reschedule fee of £15 per experience will apply. Where you have booked a group, team build or corporate experience such as the Ultimate Exclusive Party Package, or a Team Taster Corporate Event, a reschedule fee of £15 per person will apply.

If you fail to arrive for your flights or fail to reschedule your flights within the times above, your booking will no longer be valid.

Reschedule Plus (optional extra)

Upon booking, First Time Flyers will have the option of purchasing the Reschedule Plus - just £1.49 per experience. This allows for unlimited booking reschedules to be made (at no extra cost) up to 48 hours before your flight date and is therefore strongly recommended.

Holders of the Reschedule Plus can also reschedule flights with less than 48 hours’ notice, at a greatly reduced price of £10 per experience.

If a booking is the result of any voucher redemption, please note the expiry date on the voucher. Reschedule Plus will allow you to reschedule your flights on the basis the new flight dates are within the validity period. Flights may not be rescheduled beyond the expiry date on any voucher.

Refund policy

If you know you will be unable to take your flights, you can transfer vouchers or flights to another person. You do not need to notify iFLY of name changes before arrival.

iFLY will refund open dated voucher purchases or faulty merchandise items, less any credit card surcharges, bought directly from iFLY within 14 days of the purchase date. After 14 days (from the date of original transaction) no refund will be available. Refunds are made to the same payment source as the original purchase. Where a purchase involves the selection of a time, date and location for a flight experience to take place, or is a purchase of digital media, no refunds are available.

Refunds are centrally processed through our Accounts Team. For that reason please allow at least 5 workings days for refunds to be processed. Sorry, we’re unable to offer refunds onsite at any of our locations.

iFLY cannot provide refunds on vouchers bought through third parties. In these circumstances refunds are subject to the policies of the third party and we would advise you to make contact with them directly.

Do you need help with your order?

If you need help with an existing booking, please don't hesitate to contact our friend customer service team on 0845 331 6549. Calls cost 5p per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

What do I need to bring with me on the day?

Firstly, we ask that every flyer completes a 'statement of risk', available at, before arrival. It is particularly important that you take note of the information regarding previously dislocated shoulders. Once completed, you'll be given a multi-digit code that you should bring with you on the day.

If your flight experience was originally purchased through one of our Gift Experience partners or a Gift Voucher company (and not directly through iFLY), you should also bring the original gift voucher that was issued to you. Without these, you'll be unable to fly.

Please arrive at iFLY comfortably dressed (avoid collars and hoods) and bring a pair of well fitting lace-up trainers. We find that jeans, t-shirt and a pair of skate/running shoes are ideal. If you don't have a pair of lace-up trainers, don't worry, we do have appropriate footwear for hire for £2.95.

If you have long hair we recommend bringing something to tie it up and maybe a brush.

Whilst we do have basic lockers on site, we suggest leaving valuable items at home for real peace of mind. Our lockers accept a £1 coin which is refunded and you should be prepared to remove all loose items and all items of jewellery before flying.

Can I take my GoPro in the wind tunnel?

For regular pro-flyers, we provide a GoPro mount in our tunnel staging area that can be used for filming. Due to the risk of the GoPro's coming loose form their mounts, we do not allow flyers to wear the cameras (or similar equipment) in the wind tunnel whilst flying.

We do however record every flight session on video which is available for purchase after flights.

Can I upgrade to fly in Prime Time sessions?

If you have a flight experience which is for ‘Off-Peak’ times only or valid Monday to Friday, we are able to upgrade them in almost all cases for a nominal charge.

To upgrade a flight experience please contact our customer service team on 0845 331 6549 or email They'd be delighted to help out. Calls cost 5p per minute plus your phone company's access charge.

On the day

Are there any unforeseen costs on the day?

No, once you have made your reservation, you have paid for your flight experience.

However, we do have a number of optional extras that can be purchased on the day of your flight. Many customers ask us why we don’t include certain extras in the basic cost of our flight experiences and it’s a good point. The downside is that including extras would simply add a bit to the cost for everyone coming to fly and we don’t think that’s fair. However if you want to add pictures, videos, repeat flights or have a Hi-Fly experience we do charge for them as extras. Refreshments are available to purchase at all locations.

For more information specifically about our extras please get in touch with us.

Do you have strobe lighting & flash photography?

Flight sessions involve occasional flash photography (the driver of our wind tunnel will be taking snaps of flyers mid-flight) and occasional strobe lighting.

This should not affect your ability to fly or spectate, but please contact us before arrival if you think we should know about any conditions such as epilepsy or seizures. We may be able to adjust our systems to accomodate.

How long is a flight?

Strangely, we never ask how long a skydive lasts but this is the opposite at a wind tunnel.

We replicate the skydiving experience and offer flights which are about 1½ times longer than a tandem jump. So each flight is about a minute, often a bit longer but never shorter than 50 seconds.

A double flight is about 120 seconds long. Please remember we are selling the exhilarating indoor skydiving experience which should never be measured in terms of time!

It may not sound long but as a first time flyer it will seem much longer during the experience itself.

Is it difficult to breathe in the wind tunnel?

No, it’s just like breathing normally actually… there is no specialist breathing equipment required. Just relax and breathing will come naturally.

If you do suffer from any breathing difficulties such as Asthma, don’t worry, in most cases you’ll still find flying a comfortable experience and be able to breathe normally. However we do recommend you contact us with any queries so we can offer further advice.

I've heard about the Hi-Fly experience... how do I get this?

The Hi-Fly is the equivalent of a hot-lap on a track day where instructors will be able to give you a taste of what’s its like to fly like a pro as they take hold of you and fly you around the tunnel, occasionally high up towards the top.

iFLY endeavours to offer the Hi-Fly in as many sessions as possible but owing to the specialist training and experience level required, we are unable to guarantee it. Remembering that Indoor Skydiving is a skill based pursuit, we do encourage flyers to be in control of their own experience and to fly independently of their instructor. The Hi-Fly for that reason is an ‘extra’ and not a standard feature of any iFLY experience.

Instructors able to offer the Hi-Fly are among the most experienced in the world, undergoing hours of rigorous training before they are licensed* to fly with others. If an instructor with the appropriate license deems he can fly safely with an iFLY customer, and enhance their experience at the same time, then the Hi-Fly will be offered. If you have any questions regarding the Hi-Fly, we urge you to speak to a member of the Aircrew in advance of your flight.

Get in touch with us, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

*Hi-Fly licenses are issued by the independent governing body of our sport, the International Bodyflight Association (IBA).

What should I wear?

That's easy.

  • Dress in comfy clothes (shirts without collars are best)
  • Wear lace-up trainers
  • Bring a hairbrush if you have long hair

Can I wear glasses in the wind tunnel?

If you wear glasses, we can provide extra large goggles that fit neatly over your glasses, meaning your sight is not obstructed during your flights.

Alternatively you may choose to rent one of our full face G3 helmets for a small charge. As well as protecting your glasses, they make you look super cool, like your instructor! Contact lenses can also be worn under standard goggles but please note, there's always a small risk they may come out.

After your flight

How do I access my photo and video downloads?

During your flight session the driver of our wind tunnel will be taking snaps of you mid-flight. Don't forget to smile! All photos can be viewed immediately after your flights and they’re available to purchase in a number of formats (digital downloads, 6 x 8 prints and more).

You can also access your photos or videos online for up to 6 months following your flights. Please note, due to flyer's movements we cannot guarantee the perfect photo but we'll try our very best.

You can also share your photos for free on Facebook.

Find photos or videos from your flight session.
