Our Physics of Flight sessions provide secondary school children with the science behind wind tunnel technology, human flight and skydiving in a fun and friendly environment. It’s the ideal out-of-classroom learning experience.
Each student will experience a combination of video, verbal and action based learning appropriate for their age group, led by a suitably skilled practitioner.
The workings of our vertical wind tunnels are conveyed by video learning before the class is challenged to complete our ‘Physics is Fun’ worksheets, either within groups or as individuals. Answering questions and problem solving on topics such as terminal velocity, aerodynamics, friction and drag ensure that the children will take away vital learnings as to how our wind tunnels operate, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of how their own bodies will fly when they enter our high speed vertical column of air.
Speaking of which, the sessions will culminate in an unforgettable flying session in our state of the art vertical wind tunnel. What better way to bring the theory of flight to life and above all, show how simple and fun science can be?
